Because copper sculptures react with carbon dioxide and water in the air to form alkaline copper carbonate, or copper rust, water absorbents should be placed regularly and stored in a cool, dry place in order to prevent rust. In addition to acidic substances, there are also impurities such as brine, which will corrode the surface of copper and produce some complex products such as copper green. Copper will turn black when exposed to high temperatures and should be protected. In addition, the statue of the bronze Buddha should be respected in addition to the protection of the copper itself. Clean up a piece of open space separately. The Buddha statue can be covered with a clean cloth so as not to blaspheme, prevent falling dust, and keep it clean. If the rust on the bronze statue is relatively light, you can mix the white vinegar with water, put it in the soak, then take out, brush away the residual rust with a small brush, then wash the vinegar with clean water, wipe it with a soft cloth. If the rust is relatively heavy, it is necessary to use acetic acid, hydrochloric acid rust removal, but the concentration of acetic acid, hydrochloric acid is not easy to grasp, inexperienced people can not use rashly. No matter what method is used to remove rust, and no matter what kind of copper rust, we should first try on a small area, so as to avoid improper method of problem.
